Meet Dr. Lyllymar Colon

Lyllymar Colón-Rodríguez is a licensed psychologist and seasoned clinical researcher with over 15 years of experience spanning psychotherapy, behavioral health, and clinical trials. She earned her Doctorate in Psychology from Universidad Carlos Albizu in San Juan, Puerto Rico, complemented by a Master’s in Public Health Education from the University of Puerto Rico’s Medical Sciences Campus and a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Advertising. Throughout her career, Dr. Colón-Rodríguez has remained deeply committed to advancing mental health access for vulnerable populations, including children, individuals living with HIV, and neurodiverse populations.

Her extensive clinical background includes work in pediatric hospitals, autism centers, community shelters, and private practice settings, providing psychotherapy and conducting comprehensive psychological and developmental evaluations. She has held leadership roles in multidisciplinary teams and completed a pediatric psychology post-doctoral fellowship at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. As a former mentee in a federally funded research program, she led studies on violence, trauma, and quality of life in women living with HIV, contributing to numerous conference presentations and scholarly publications.

Dr. Colón-Rodríguez also holds specialized training from the prestigious LEND program in neurodevelopmental disabilities. Her research contributions include work on HIV clinical trials, early childhood developmental assessments, and the psychosocial needs of underserved communities. A bilingual clinician fluent in Spanish and English, she integrates culturally responsive practices in both her clinical and research roles.

Currently, she collaborates with Mindscope Research to support the design and implementation of clinical trials focused on mental health and neurodevelopment. Dr. Colón-Rodríguez is a proud member of the American Psychological Association and has received multiple recognitions for academic and leadership excellence throughout her career.
